GLOBSEC 2009

Jaroslav Baška was born in April 5, 1975. He graduated at the Žilina University, Electro-Technical Faculty with Honours. From 2001 to 2002 he was a Project Manager of Information Systems. Later on, 2002 – 2006, he was a Member of Parliament (Smer-Social Democracy) and Member of the Parliament Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (2003 – 2006). During 2006 – 2008, Jaroslav Baška was a Mayor of Dohňany. In 2006, was re-elected as a Member of Parliament. In the same year he became Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defence and since January 30, 2008, has been serving as the Defence Minister of the Slovak Republic.
