It is an honour to welcome you in Bratislava on behalf of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, and on my personal behalf. There is no doubt that the GLOBSEC conference is a remarkable event. It has matured like a fine wine. I am very pleased that the Slovak Ministry of Defence is among the institutions providing support to this excellent and ambitious event since its beginning.

Today, the GLOBSEC Bratislava Global Security Forum will start in an unusual way– with informal Night Owl Sessions on the premises of the Kempinski Hotel River Park in Bratislava.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic Róbert Ondrejcsák will present partial conclusions of the Slovak Strategic Defense Review at the GLOBSEC Bratislava Security Forum. The importance of energy cooperation is emphasised by the recent agreement between the governments of the Slovak Republic and Hungary about the construction of a gas interconnection.
