State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic Róbert Ondrejcsák will present partial conclusions of the Slovak Strategic Defense Review at the GLOBSEC Bratislava Security Forum. The press meeting, which will take place on Thursday at 9:40 in the morning on the premises of Kempinski Hotel River Park, will also be attended by members of the Defence Review Consultation Committee, non-departmental experts and diplomats including Rastislav Káčer, Tomáš Valášek, Martin Bútora, Radovan Geist, Jozef Bátora, Andrej Nosko and Peter Terem.
The main reasons for the implementation of the Strategic Defense Review in the Slovak Republic are: the reduced financial framework for fulfilling the function of state defence, unsustainable financial condition of the department of defence and armed forces arising from discrepancies between political and military ambition and the financial framework as well as preserving international credibility and significant changes in the global security environment.
GLOBSEC is organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission in cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Slovakia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, NATO Public Diplomacy Division and International Visegrad Fund under the auspices of H.E. Mikuláš Dzurinda, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, on the premises of exclusive Kempinski Hotel River Park Bratislava.
