András Deák is a Research Director at the Center for EU Enlargement Studies. He received his Diploma (MA) and his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in International Relations, in 1997 and 2003, respectively, both from the University of Economic Sciences, Hungary. From 1998 he was a researcher in charge of Post Soviet Affairs at the Teleki Laszló Institiute, Budapest. Between 2007 and 2009 he worked at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs as an Executive Director. András Deák held several seminars on Contemprorary Russian Politics and International Energy Policy at the Budapest Corvinus University. He is also the holder of a Bolyai-grant under the title "Oil and State in Russia - the Institutionalization of the Hydrocarbon Sector in the Russian Political System" and participant researcher in the OTKA-project "The Practice of the Hegemony".
