Wess Mitchell is President and co-founder of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) – a Washington, DC policy institute dedicated to the study of Central Europe. He has played an active role in CEPA’s development since its inception in 2005. His recent work includes Keeping New Allies, a bipartisan initiative to study U.S. policy in Central Europe; U.S.-Central Europe Strategy Forum, an annual, eleven-nation seminar producing ten-year regional strategic forecasts; and Global Allies, a multi-region assessment of geopolitically-exposed small and mid-sized U.S. allies. Previously, Mitchell worked as an analyst at the National Center for Policy Analysis. He holds a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University and is currently completing his doctoral dissertation at Freie University Berlin. A frequent commentator in international media outlets, he published his first book with Princeton University Press in 2009.
