New Challenges - Better Capabilities

On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 12:00 PM, the two-day international security conference „New Challenges, Better Capabilities” will start in the venue of the historical building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic (Župné námestie 12, Bratislava). It is expected that in the course of this official accompanying conference of the NATO Defence Ministers Meeting in Bratislava, the new Secretary General of the NATO will hold one of his first public speeches. Moreover, the conference will welcome a lot of high-profile international relations specialists and decision-makers, among them ministers of defence and others.

The aim of the conference is to interconnect the political debates held in the confidential atmosphere between the ministers of defence with the broader international security community in the Central European region as well as to bring the topics discussed at the official meeting to the public.

The event is organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the NATO Public Diplomacy Division.
