Glynne Hines

Major-General Glynne Hines joined the Canadian Forces with the 56th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery in Ontario in 1971. His long and colourful military career has given him in depth experience in the Navy, where he qualified as a submariner, a gunner in the Canadian Army and also as a Communications Officer in the Air Force. He has served as a part of Canada's commitment to the Gulf War and was appointed Commander of the Communication unit that deployed to Doha, Qatar with the Canadian Air Task Group Middle East. He was posted to SFOR in Bosnia-Herzegovina where he served as the Chief of the Combined and Joint Communications and Information Systems Division (CJ6) until May 2000. He was appointed the Canadian Forces J6 and Chief of Staff - Information Management. Major-General Hines was promoted to Major General in April 2006.  In 2009 Major General Hines took up the post of Director, NATO Headquarters Consultation, Command and Control (C3) Staff. This post also fulfils the role of Co-Vice Chairman of the NATO C3 Board. Major-General Hines holds a diploma in Electronics Technology (Communications), a Bachelor of Engineering (Management), and a Master of Science (System Management).
