Colonel Tamm assumed his current appointment, as Director of the Centre of Excellence of the Cooperative Cyber Defence, on the 1st of August 2008. He graduated from the Finnish Military Academy in 1994. He served from Company Commander to various battalion appointments in the Signal Battalion, Tallinn, including the Battalion Commander duties to the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces as Chief of Communication and Information Systems Department. Colonel Tamm was assigned for a period of three years to the Allied Land Component Command Headquarters Heidelberg, Germany as G6 Current Operations and Exercises Section Head. During this assignment, he was deployed in July 2007 for 6 months to Afghanistan, HQ ISAF in Kabul, as Chief Operations of the CJ6 Joint CIS Control Centre (JCCC). Colonel Tamm’s awards include the Order of the Cross of the Eagle (5th Class), the Badge of the Merit of the Estonian Defence Forces, the Distinguished Service Cross of the Estonian Defence Forces, the NATO Meritorious Service Medal and the NATO non-Article V Medal of Service (ISAF).
