► International Security Conference GLOBSEC 

GLOBSEC is a unique international security forum gathering the most influential high-politics, non-governmental, corporate and intellectual leaders not only from both sides of the Atlantic but including the wider international security community. GLOBSEC is a unique and sui generis event in Central Europe, taking place annually in Bratislava. From 2005, the forum creates an unparalleled meeting place for prominent international political leaders, Slovak and foreign governmental and parliamentarian representatives, representatives of international organizations, international affairs and security experts and analysts, representatives of non governmental and corporate sector and media, to discuss solutions to key transatlantic and global security challenges.

► Central European Policy Institute 

When it comes to the limitations of purely national approach, regional cooperation becomes increasingly relevant. Dealing with complicated foreign policy, security, economic and energy issues seems to be more effective in interest-sharing groupings than independently. The Central European Policy Institute answers the call for converging the region’s intellectual power by putting together devoted researchers and professionals from across the Central Europe in order to come up and promote innovative regional-based ideas.


► EU Foreign Policy Shaping: From Brussels to Tunis

The project will introduce its promoters to the way foreign policy is created on the European and implemented on the local level. The project will be organised as a cooperation of two Hungarian and two Slovak NGOs. It will take place from February to May, 2012 in Banská Bystrica, on the premises of the University of Matej Bel and in Budapest. The expert dimension of the project will be covered by professionals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from the Permanent Delegation of the SR to the EU, as well as regional experts.Projekt „Georgia: Knocking on EU`s Door“ je zameraný na posilnenie demokratických inštitúcií v Gruzínsku ako aj podporiť euro-atlantické integračné ambície krajiny. Partnerom na gruzínskej strane je Nadácia Levana Mikeladzeho. Projekt je realizovaný s finančnou podporou SlovakAid. Projekt odštartoval v októbri 2011 a bude ukončený v júli 2012.


Euro-Atlantic Quarterly

Euro-Atlantic Quarterly is the magazine created as a result of the cooperation of experts from Slovak and foreign security community. The Quarterly with its focus on international security issues fulfills the space amongst expert periodicals existing in Slovakia.

Euro-Atlantic Quarterly periodically brings new, up-to-date information, commentaries, articles and analysis of the events that shape international security scena. EURO-ATLANTIC QUARTERLY offers variety of interesting information and articles and react to most important developments in unstableregions. It brings opinions on security activities of our allies within NATO and EU, whose outcomes affect all of us, but it also brings information about engagement and activities of Slovakia in international security structures.


► Visegrad Security Cooperation Initiative (VSCI)

Visegrad Security Cooperation Initiative (VSCI) is a project organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission and its partners from the Visegrad group countries: Jagello 2000 (CZ), International Centre for Democratic Transition (HU) and Euro-Atlantic Association (PL). Its creation would not be possible without the financial support from the International Visegrad Fund. Through systematic work in the joint expert groups, the project identifies shared security and defence interests of the Visegrad group countries and analyzes the possible means of their common realization. The process results in the elaboration of common policy papers that could represent the intellectual as well as practical impetus to the political and expert discussions on the common foreign policy strategies.


► EU Enlargement in the Balkans in 2011 – Make Not Break

The EU Enlargement in the Balkans in 2011 – Make Not Break is a one day expert international conference organized on the margins of the meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad and Western Balkans countries that will take place in Bratislava in October 2010. The intention of the conference is to assess the status of the EU integration, as well as to discuss the perspectives of revitalizing the process of EU enlargement and to exchange information about official development aid projects in the Western Balkan countries.


► Transatlantic Security Forum (TSF)

Transatlantic Security Forum (TSF)  is a project of regular discussions organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission and the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia. Debates on topics from the area of international relations, security and economics have been taking place already for the third year in pleasant atmosphere of Kafé Scherz in Bratislava – Palisády. The very informal format puts emphasis on dynamic interaction with the audience. The aim of the project is to bring up-to-date topics to open environment of the café and bring them closer to experts as well as to broader public and media.


► Improving Democratic Institutions - Door to Europe

Improving Democratic Institutions – Door to Europe was launched in November 2010, which is aimed at transfer of know how from the NATO and EU pre accession era in Slovakia. It has been realized in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is currently facing similar pre accession challenges as Slovakia a few years ago. In cooperation with two partner NGOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina a series of expert seminars and workshops will be organized, via which these experiences will be handed out to the employees of the relevant government institutions and NGOs.
